The engineering sciences is treated as separate department for taking care of the first year engineering students. Total 22 teaching staffs, out of this 3 are Ph.D., 5 are Ph.D pursuing and 14 are post graduates The department is headed by Prof. Dr S M Khairnar, who is having 30 years of teaching, research & administrative experience. The focus of the FE Department is to lay a strong foundation and foster up-to-date knowledge in mathematics, sciences and the rudiments of all branches of Engineering. We also encourage and promote a conductive environment for creative activities to enhance students’ practical problem solving abilities and equip them for success in the modern world. Regular assignments and problem-solving sessions enable our students to face the University exams with confidence; extra-curricular and sports activities in our well-equipped campus nurture their all-round talents; and seminars, symposia, workshops and industry visits equip them with technical knowledge and creativity to excel in the engineering profession.
Key features of the department: We have Anti-ragging Committee and Anti-ragging Squad, through which we have kept educational atmosphere ragging free. In the department, we take various measures such as internal tests, remedial teaching, home assignments, think-pair-share activity, mentoring & counseling, parents-teacher meet, student & parent feedback etc., for strengthening academics in the dept. Class teachers regularly monitor the attendance and progress of the students and same regularly communicated to the parents. So that parents closely monitor the progress of their ward. Adequate attention is given to the weak students through counseling & remedial teaching. Along with academic progress we give equal importance to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for overall personality development of the students. Also, students are encouraged to participate in various technical and sports events at state and national level.

Department of Engineering Sciences (FE) serves as an effective bridge for students graduating from Junior College and poised on the threshold of a career in engineering. The Department is committed to serve the needs of various branches of Engineering by fostering an effective teaching-learning environment and offering students an academically encouraging experience to develop their intellectual capacity, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving ability. The highly experienced faculty members are enthusiastic, dynamic and committed towards all department activities so that students become useful and forward-thinking members of the Science and Engineering community. Current trends in the scientific world clearly demand an 'interdisciplinary approach' and all must have a minimum basic knowledge of all disciplines. The focus of the First Year Department is to lay a strong foundation and foster up-to-date knowledge in mathematics, sciences and the rudiments of all branches of Engineering. We also encourage and promote a conductive environment for creative activities to enhance students' practical problem solving abilities and equip them for success in the modern world.
